We would like to say we are over it....

We knew it would be stressful but..... it never ends!!! :) ON the bright side- the stucco guys have pretty much finished the house except the back (because of the roofers)

It has been almost a month and a half since the shingles have been sitting on our roof still in the package. Long story there though and many stressful conversations. So I won't go into that too much. :)  And the windows well- the bathroom one broke and then we just noticed that something hit another window in the kitchen and it broke.  UGH!!! On the bright side again we got our big window that they goofed on and our door should be here tomorrow. Anyway....here are some pictures.

Windows and stucco and doors OH MY!!!!

Well after weeks of waiting and lets just say some stressful conversations with certain companies and contractors, our windows came and the shingles are getting put on. Three weeks ago they came out loaded the shingles on the roof and left two weeks later they show up and barely get 1/f of the back of the roof done. Still haven't been back. As for the windows we went the rounds and went to get them on Thrusday because they called us Monday saying they were ready for pick up Tuesday and then had to wait 3 hours for them to finish one window!! Seriously we knew it would be stressful .... and it all has begun. The stucco guy has been GREAT!!!! He has been waiting for the roofers to get going and the windows and doors to get here. Our front door was damaged in shipping and won't get here until next month-went the rounds with HD- :) Enough said. But I am grateful our windows are here with a few minor things that need fixed, but are fixable and the stucco is on its way next week as well as the roof!!!

Wyoming wind can't bring them down!

The framer's have been hard at work and keep on working through that blistering wind on top of the roof!!! They said it will be done by Friday... they have been super fast but we still might be running on contractor time. :) They might be the ones to prove that statement wrong.!

These guys are super fast it is crazy and they seriously have been working sun up to sun down no lie!!!! They made it look like a house in 3 days. They just have the trusses left and the roof to put on.

AND SO IT BEGINS!!!!!!

Last week we were told that it wouldn't be until April 14 that the framers could come and start our house then on Friday afternoon we got a call and long behold... "Framers will be there Monday" Holy crap we felt like we were scrambling to get things together and we thought we were ready for it all. We really are though but it is crazy how fast things change. Lumber started showing up on Saturday. Everyone is telling us to not make deadlines when you build a house and to expect contractors to be late. Lucky these guys showed up on Monday and Tuesday at noon they had the first floor done and all the joists up. Then when I came home from work they had the outside finished on the first floor. It has gone up so fast!!! Right now they have the inside framed out on the first floor and are working on the second level. Here are some pictures to keep you updated. Don't hold your breath in WYOMING!!!

I really am used to this kind of change in the weather. After all 24 years of growing up in this-what can I say?.... Headed to church in clear weather to come out to the truck covered in snow and the wind blowing. I'm glad its a wet snow so it won't be staying around long but, that makes for a muddy mess!!! I do love the snow though. I love seeing pastures covered in a blanket of snow that has yet to be touched and it makes me want to just run out there and roll around in it or make some tracks. I love seeing the snow when there is a full moon at night and everything is illuminated perfectly. I will admit I got use to the spring-like weather the last few days though. As for the house - well we are still waiting to hear the final word from the bank and then all systems go!!

This Cowboys Hat

I never know what to say or write when someone passes but my grandpa Brinton passed away and this past week I have been reflecting on what I have learned and what I will someday be able to pass on to our kids. My grandpa Fairbourn passed away when I was 10 and I still have very fond memories of him and think of him often. He used to always have Werthers Original candies for us when we would come and we would make this elephant sound with his mouth that he loved to teach us-probably so we could annoy our parents... :) My grandpa Brinton (gramps) did teach me how to ride a horse how to "drown a worm" and so many other things!!! He is where I get my love for the outdoors and horses from. He let me name two horses and he always told me to give them strong names-like the Indians would do. My cousins kody and katie and I were the same age and we were constantly together with gramps. He called katie his "katie-did" and he called me "kimberly-kate" I'm not sure if he had a name for kody, poor kid had enough to put up with -with all us girls and all the torture of wearing the "rainbow" skirt and jewlery.... :) Gramps has left behind a legend and one to keep living through all of us kids. I have many more stories to tell and so much more to say but what was said at the funeral was perfect and I know that we will see each other again and I hope that I can make him proud. I will miss him and will always carry a part of him with me. So until next time gramps...this cowboys hat has a lot to tell.
