So this is what moving feels like....

Well Okay I really am not moving very far but it still felt weird sleeping in another room last night. Everything is out of the apartment and spread out everywhere in the house. But thanks to my mom :) we got the kitchen organized!!! YAY! Now for the master bedroom, bathroom and living room and the other two rooms...... I am a little sad that we won't be in the shop anymore even though it is right next door, but that was our first place since we have been married. But I love our new Home and it has been so rewarding to do it ourselves and now it is done!!! That is definitely our Christmas present this year!!!! Now that the house is done we can start enjoying the Holidays with our Family, and lots and lots of "callin" yup been out a few times and got skunked but saw four sets of cat tracks in two different areas and I cannot wait to call one in, track one down after a fresh snow, or trap one!!!! Christine has been home now for almost three weeks and I can't wait to just spend some quality time with her, I guess I did last night but she was doing a bit of missionary work by carrying all our crap to the new house>.. :) so does that still count?...  :) and this buck at the bottom is the one that I will be looking for all winter and when May 1st comes around!!!! He has cheaters on both sides and he is MINE!!!!

No stockings or tree but our railing is hung...

Okay so we are a little slow at getting our decorations up for Christmas but you can't blame us. This weekend Eric and I finished our stair railing. The color was darker than what we wanted but it turned out awesome!!! It is very heavy duty but it feels so good to have it done and in and I really like it. Eric has done so much and he is so good at any project he makes up and puts his mind too and I am always amazed at his work!!! It feels good to know that we are so close and that this is basically all us that we built this together. The bank comes tomorrow for the final appraisal and then we can start moving in. The pictures don't do this justice. We made up our own design and put it together and then where the open squares are, later on we might but some etched glass in there or even some plasma cam pictures. I am sure that no one else has this and that you might even be able to tie a rope swing onto it... :)

Carpet.. I would like you to meet.. House

YES!!! So they didn't come yesterday but that wasn't a surprise to us but bright and early this morning and late tonight the job was done and looks amazing. I was super nervous that the carpet wouldn't look very good with everything but it pulls everything together! I love the colors and Eric does too. I know pictures don't really do justice but here are some tonight and then I will take some tomorrow in the sunlight. I have two colors Black Pearl - the main run and in the Master, Morning Mist - Two bedrooms and then a remnant that we found for the Mountain Room. The colors are perfect because they have three color tones entwined that work perfectly!! Exactly what I wanted, just some light color that speckled through.

CARPET TOMORROW!!!

Yes I said it, Carpet tomorrow, was supposed to be today but we figured as much and we even listened to their excuses and politely said that we could wait another day. :) BUT I REALLY CAN'T WAIT!!!! I am super excited and very nervous to see what it looks like in the house and how it is all going to come together. As for everything else things have been flying by and we are hoping to close our loan in a couple of weeks and my sister Christine comes home Dec 4th!!!! I can't believe that that day is already here!!!

We have finished welding our stair railing and it has turned out pretty neat!!! We both agree that it could probably hold an elephant in but it will hold up to anything.!!!! Eric has done so much on it and yes... even I welded on it :) Pictures to prove it!!! I have that best teacher!!!! and I didn't just weld a little either for the record!!! :)

We also put in all our light fixtures and our "castle" chandelier in the entryway. I love all the chandeliers that we chose and it really has made our house come together. Thanksgiving came and went and we ate to much as usual but it was to die for and I decided to help out a little so I made some turkey. Turkey cookies that is....and as everyone in the world is getting a jump start on Christmas, I couldn't find any normal candy corn so they became Hybrid Christmas turkeys. ( I couldn't figure out why the picture turned, sorry that's not how I loaded them on the blog)

before and after...

So we still are just chuggin along with the little things. This weekend I am headed to pick out lighting for the inside and I feel pretty confident but as soon as I start looking at lights over and over on the Internet, everything begins to look the same.... I know that I will find something that will work and that we like.

Last week I finished sealing the fireplace and we will put the pellet stove on it this weekend so that we can get some heat in the house when we are working. These Wyoming days you never know what kind of weather you will get. But the slate tile I love and it has a gray silver shimmer to it and then when I sealed it, the color got darker but it is still pretty.

Counter Tops

Our counter tops came a couple of weeks ago and they look amazing and after several of back and forth decisions and looking for the right color and price for our master bath counters, the company that we were going through started carrying a new color and .... it worked!!! I cannot say how relieved I was!!! The pictures don't do the kitchen counter tops justice. As for the wall in the Piano room well that was a little hectic as well but I have fixed the goofs and am pretty satisfied. Tile is done and now we are just finishing up the trim and still need the carpet and railing and all the other little things that need done before or after we move in. I think that we will be in the house by Christmas but Thanksgiving is pushing it.

Cabinets and Counter tops are coming this week!!!

We have basically finalized everything for our cabinets and counter tops and can't wait to show you. It has been a bit rough and Eric and I have been going in circles trying to make sure everything matches and within our budget, but I think that it will all work out. I am super excited!!!! Eric has done most of the tiling and I just told him what patterns I wanted and he started throwing it down and it turned out awesome!! I still have a bit of grouting to finish up and a few touch ups with the paint (of course I will have to do it again in a few weeks) but we are getting closer.!! P.S. Sadly to say no hunting this year for us, but I can't wait to start 'yote callin!!~!!!!!

Meanwhile, in the whole mix of house building, my sister and her new little family moved to Wisconsin and I am really really bummed! But hopefully road trip in the future!!! Miss my sis and miss my sweet little nephew!! And my amazing brother-in-law of course!! :)

From texture to paint to tile!

Eric and I have been working hard at the house and with the help of family, we were able to start painting and tiling the small rooms. This is a short post but here is what we have accomplished so far.

Busy Busy Busy!!!

So baby Louis Daniel Jensen was born July 12 and is one happy healthy boy and their parents are even happier!!! I love this little boy and can't get enough of him!!! Baby Louis had some hair and it had this gorgeous strawberry red tint in it. Laurel did it all natural and I was so amazed and proud of her!!!! I love that girl!!!

As for the house there have been happy days and stressful days but it is coming along and looking back when it was just getting framed.... we have come a long way but have a long way to go!!! The insulators came last week and it was pretty neat to watch how they blew the insulation in and the smell was like cotton candy- kind of a burnt sugar that still smelled sweet. I am SO SO SO grateful that they got that done because Eric and I have been getting heatstroke in that castle!! It was so hot and going upstairs to work from 9 in the morning to 9 at night wasn't really a "want to do" in our minds because of the heat, but now that the insulators came -- WOW!!! HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! The drywall is supposed to be here tomorrow and the crew will start on Monday... Fingers crossed!!! :)
